The Ensign was designed for the Bolton Harriers, who took part in the New York Marathon in 1981.

Here in the 'civilian' version for everyday use, comfortable with stable support and Vibram sole*.

An extra thick wedge in the midsole provides comfortable cushioning.

A luxury version in soft Scottish lamb nappa and suede. A timeless classic in perfect craftsmanship.

All materials are sourced from the UK or EU, the cotton laces from Spain.

The insole is removable and can be replaced with your own insole if required.

*Vibram sole: Made from special rubber compounds. It guarantees an enormously good grip and is

one of the best shoe soles in the world. The position, arrangement, shape and height of the soles are carefully thought out,

to optimise them for the specific purpose of the shoe.
